Dr. Huddleston decided to go ahead with closing Douglas’s chest this morning. We weren’t there in time to see the examination, but we did get a chance to talk to him. He didn’t know exactly when the procedure would happen (his partner was doing another procedure first, and they use the same nurses), so we don’t know if the procedure is underway yet or not. We’re just waiting.
We got a chance to spend some time with Douglas this morning. He had a great night – really quiet, and all of his numbers looked good all night. One thing I forgot to mention last night was that his blood pressure was stable all day yesterday. They didn’t have to keep readjusting his medications like they had had to the day before. He’s healing!
One other advantage of closing his chest (besides the major, major medical advantages) is that we will post more pictures soon. We didn’t post any pictures for the past couple days because images of the open chest are just too graphic to show to everyone. We’ll put more pictures of him recovering after he’s all closed up!
