Any Day Now

We’re getting close.  The due date is less than three weeks away, and all signs are good.  Jenny’s frequent tests and exams are showing a healthy baby, and they estimate that he’s already over 7 pounds.  Even though the emphasis has been on getting our baby to full term to make sure he’s as healthy as possible for surgery, the doctors have said that they wouldn’t stop labor if it started now.

Jenny’s feeling tired a lot, and the baby’s always moving and kicking.  The biggest additional challenge recently has been the heat; it’s been around 100-degrees for most of last three weeks.  We were fortunate to have regained our power after only 9 hours in the big storms last month.  Having air conditioning is a real blessing in this heat, but Jenny mourns not being able to be in her garden.

We have our crib, our swing, our baby seat, and the cloth diapers.  All we don’t have yet is the baby.  But we’re getting close.
